Gimme a Little Credit

In our house Tammy runs the finances, which is fitting since she works in the financial industry, and, for the most part, she’s on top of everything.

But then there are times when she forgets that she’s already paid a bill and ends up sending in two payments. We once had a credit of over $100 on an Old Navy card due to her paying the bill more than once.

So, I didn’t really think too much about it when she told me she had a credit on one of her cards, until…

Tammy: Well, I’ve got a credit on my Ann Taylor card. (hinting at her needing to go shopping)
Me: How much credit?
Tammy: Fumble, mumble, rabbles and muffler, bumble cents.
Me: How much?
Tammy: Fumble, mumble, rabble and 72 cents.
Me: What was the first part?
Tammy: (hanging her head and talking under her breath) Four dollars and 72 cents.

We also have a $25 credit on our gas bill.

It’s a girl thing….Old Navy, Marshall’s, Ross….just to name a few do not give $ back, they only give store credit. When I have money, I’ll buy something I don’t like, then return it and have the store credit until I find something I want….like I said….it’s a girl thing 🙂

  2. I do the same thing with coupons….I have a Macy’s coupon, I HAVE to go use it 🙂

  3. Glad to hear that! A former co-worker, and one of my bosses at work will NEVER shop at a Macy’s….it’s some sort of silly “CHICAGO IS MARSHALL FIELD’S, MACY’S IS NEW YORK, I HATE NEW YORK…SCREW MACY’S!” point of view…Unless of course, you’re blogging from the East Coast. Then, now you know how some Chicagoans feel about New York, and not just the sports franchises! Haha. Quick note, I’m originally from CT, moved to IL in Oct., 1998.
With that “girl thing” being said, I’m happy, AS A GUY, that I got six new Russell Athletic pocket T-shirts (in 6 different colors) on sale yesterday, for $4.99 each…at Sears in Crystal Lake! 🙂
