Everyone knows that Savannah is part of our family, but sometimes I feel SHE thinks she’s actually human.
We already know she understands things we say, and not just commands like sit, shake and kisses. A couple of nights ago she was lying on her bed in the living room, facing away from us when I mentioned it to Tammy.
Me: I hate it when she lays that way because I like to see her face when she sleeps.
Tammy: Yeah.
By the time Tammy and I stopped looking at each other and looked down at Savannah she had moved… so we could see her face. It may have just been coincidence, but I like to think it was because she heard, and understood, us.
The other day she put her face in the empty seat next to me in our loveseat recliner which I knew meant she wanted to sit by me. She wouldn’t get up there herself until I had put something down to cover the seat, like we do for her spot on the couch.
She spent the rest of the afternoon next to me.
We had a dog that I swear was human in a former life. Her name was Gizmo. She was a gem. Her favorite food was cheeseburgers. She passed away peacefully in our yard at the age of 13. That was about 5 years ago. I still miss her! Those little furry children can sure get close to our hearts. 🙂
I don’t even like thinking about the day when Savannah’s not around. She’s my baby and I know I’ll be a mess… for a long, long time.
She is so cute!!! Savannah looks like she is perfect for snuggling. I miss having a dog. My dog used to make sure to eat breakfast with everyone. And at night, he would walk around the house and make sure everyone was tucked away. His farts were pretty rancid. Every time my dog farted, he would clear out the room withing seconds.
Savannah farts so loud we can hear it at times, even when she’s laying across the room. haha… She only seems to want to cuddle with Tammy. I think it’s because my body heat makes it uncomfortably hot for us. haha… But she always like to be in the room with us. Sometimes she’ll even sit in the floor of the bathroom while Tammy is, uh, going. haha…
I don’t think cats and dogs mind the bathroom usage. My cat just sits and keeps the Hubby company until the smell hits him. Then the cat tries to claw his way out. It does get a little weird when he stares though.
My dog’s farts were of the silent but deadly variety. We never heard it. But we knew when he did it.
These are buietaful Tina! What a buietaful girl! The pictures of her in the blue shirt are really amazing and make her eyes light up! You really have a gift don’t you?
Her manners are so much more refined than Wonderbutt’s!
She’s definitely can be a bit of a snob. 😉 I don’t think she’s torn up anything of substance in a VERY long time so Wonderbutt has her beat in that category. haha
I love that last one, especially. What a great face.
Now you see what I said that I like to see her face when she’s sleeping. haha…
What a cute sleepy pup. I think my pets can understand me sometimes too. Except when I tell Jack not to drink out of the toilet. Selective hearing you know?
