I’m Back in the Saddle Again

I got up this morning a little earlier than usual because I couldn’t sleep, because I knew today was finally going to be different.

What I was singing today…

For the first time in 284 days I had something to do besides make breakfast for Tammy, kiss her on her way out the door and wave to her out the window as she drove off to work.

This morning, for the first time since mid-January I had somewhere to go, where someone was going to be paying me for my services.

No, I didn’t start my own gigolo business, although Tammy did suggest it after watching Showtime’s show about male prostitutes. I quickly shot down her idea… because there’s a lot of ugly people in our town.

Today I had a little pep in my step, I held my head higher and walked a little taller as I made my way into the same office complex where a project I was sposed to work on had been cancelled back in September (Today Was Supposed to Be Different).

Today it didn’t matter that my job was only a freelance one or that it will only last until mid-February.

Today there was a smile on my face and only one song that was in my head…

I’m back
I’m back in the saddle again
I’m back
I’m back in the saddle again

Good for you!! And a great song (that is now going to be stuck in my head for God knows how long.) 🙂

Congrats! Freelance work leads to more as the word gets out. Hope it leads to great opportunities.

  3. It’s nice to hear good news for a change! All the best, when they see what you bring, they’ll be glad to have hired you.

Thanks Mike… It may not go much past Jan.-Feb., but it feels good to be back in an office, even though it’s nowhere near as fun as it was with all of you guys!!

Congrats on the job! Just remember you can always go into the gigolo business outside your town. People pay a lot for high end services and you can request that a photo be submitted before you make your decision to accept.

I brought it up to Tammy tonight and I think she wants me to do it just so she can say she’s my P.I.M.P.

I’m just not sure that this is the right town or with the right clientele to pay for “high end” services. haha…

You may have to relocate. Follow the moola.
You should address your wife as Madam Tammy from now on. I think she’ll like that title.

  5. Congrats! I have worked freelance for years, love it.

That’s got to be an incredible feeling. I want to go into freelancing, but it is intimidating.

    • JWo says:

The same agency that found my last job (that I had for six years) found me this one. It may only be for a few months, but I’m hoping they company I’m working with will want me for other projects in the future.

I’d much rather have a permanent position but I’m not turning this down now. hahaha…

  7. Congratulations! I am excited for your new adventure! 🙂
