Our Busy Saturday of Spelunking, Mechanicing and Rocking

Saturday’s around our house aren’t usually very busy and are typically spent with Tammy watching Lifetime movies and me watching football in the basement.

But that wasn’t the case this Saturday as we had two visitors that kept us on our toes all day.

Gavin and I spend the first part of the day hanging out in the sweet “Jungle Cave.”

The Jungle Cave in all its glory.

It was dark in the Jungle Cave but we weren’t scared.

Elmo came to visit and we watched movies.

We had enough room for a barn and farm animals.

Some of our “Toy Story” friends stopped by to watch themselves on TV.

Me and Gavin just chilling in the Jungle Cave, wondering what we should do next…

Gavin thought the Cozy Coupe needed some work.

Gavin couldn’t decide if he wanted to be a plumber or a mechanic.

Stop… Hammer Time.

I hope you don’t screw things up, Gavin.

I can get it better now that it’s jacked up.

I think I found your problem. There’s no floor in your car.

What is it they say about the squeaky wheel?

Oh yeah… it gets the glue.

Fireman Gavin is making sure there’s no junk in the trunk.

But I didn’t spend all of my time with Gavin.

Baby Ellie doesn’t require as many tools to keep amused as Gavin does.

Tammy left Ellie and me alone in the basement and that’s when the real fun started.

Ellie was showing me her drum moves.

How cool am I Uncle J?

She was showing me her skills when…

You have GOT to be kidding me… Is that Mötley Crüe? I freakin’ LOVE Mötley Crüe!!

Oh my Gawwd… Was that who I think it was?

Hells yeaaahhh… Tommy Lee rocks!!!

Seriously Uncle J. Tommy Lee f’n rocks.

They are too cute! Keep exposing Ellie to 80’s rock. Glam bands were awesome. So was metal. When does she get to listen to Metallica?

Looks like Gavin knows his tools better than, well, at least his Uncle Mike. And, we all know Ellie rocks.

He definitely knew what most of the them were as he was pulling them out. I was impressed… He even climbed up on a desk to get into my drill bits at one point but I hid them so he wouldn’t get them all over the floor.

  3. It looks like fun was had by all – except poor Savannah. She seems a bit bored.

    • JWo says:

She was “protecting” everyone. She always lays near them as they play or sleep. I think she dreams about playing with them later because every time they leave she twitches and half-barks in her sleep. haha…

  4. I like how Gavin’s pile of tools kept growing. My youngest used to like playing with my tools whenever I was working on something in the house. I took my eyes off him, though, and he carved his name in a cabinet door with a screwdriver. He was so proud. Great photos of the little ones. I especially like the one of Ellie grinning big with the band playing on the TV behind her. Just awesome.

Yeah, he pulled out nearly every tool in my toolbox to work on the car. I turned my back for a second and he had climbed up on a desk to get into my drill bag. I pulled him down and hid it pretty quick… Don’t know what I would have done had he carved his name into something… Especially since he can’t read or write. hahaha…
